Before I begin, let me inform you that I am well aware of what it is like to live near a very beautiful and historic area were many souls lost their precious lives fighting for what they believed in - Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario, Canada, (war of 1812).
As instructed, we four arrived at Johnson Square to meet up with our DEAD OF NIGHT tour guide and fellow tourists. A lovely female tour guide who was already there to greet us informed us that a fellow tour guide would be arriving soon. Shortly thereafter, a male, (who later identified himself as "Nick) joined us. Nicks appearance left much to be desired and lacked professionalism. The large crowd was split up into two groups.
Our group of approximately 30 people followed Nick to our first stop. In his opening statements he asked if anyone was aware of the reason the tour was called "Dead of Night". Nick then proceeded to SMILE and explain that all of us were "standing on the dead wherever we stood in Savannah". I am not a prude and yes, I do have a sense of humor, however, we did not find humor in disrespecting the poor souls that lost their lives before us. The manner in which Nick began his delivery left a lot to be desired.
The rest of the night tour was interesting and informative. Please note - if you are elderly or have night vision impairments, this tour could be difficult. The tour is not well lit in many spots and the paths we followed are bumpy and uneven.
Also, the tour is supposed to be restricted to 16 and older. There were two younger teens in our group who consistently interrupted our tour guide Nick who seemed to cater to their constant questions.
On our walk back to our car, we chatted with another woman who was in our tour and we all agreed that it failed to achieve our expectations.
