We were in Charleston for a 'girls' weekend' from Thursday through Monday. Before heading down, I made reservations for us to take this tour - we all were so glad I did; we all agreed that it was the highlight of our visit (and we did nothing but go to the best restaurants and bars in town the entire visit). We took the 10 A.M. tour with Franny - you must make sure that you have Franny as your guide, what an asset she is to this company. Not only did we have fantastic food, Franny provided the fascinating history behind everything we ate and everywhere we ate. I fancy myself somewhat of a foodie and a home chef, so I like to think I know food. We started at "Another Broken Egg," where we had the best grits I have ever had - smoked gouda grits that were soooo creamy. We also had fried green tomatoes that were wonderful. The tour only got better and better. We also had the best hush puppies and seasoned butter ever on this tour. By the time we were done, we were so full! We had she-crab soup, shrimp wrapped in bacon, dirty rice, pulled pork, corn bread, fried pimento cheese..., are you hungry yet? It was a mini feast at each stop. The final stop was at a candy shop where we got to sample all of their best offerings. I cannot say enough good things about this tour, especially about how Franny made the tour extra special. You will not be looking for lunch after this tour; you will be looking to sign up for another tour! Thank you Franny and Bulldog Tours for a very memorable experience.

Thanks so much for your review and kind words about your guide Franny! Everything you outlined is what we look to achieve on our culinary tours--guests leaving full of great food and great history. We do our best to highlight and offer the foods that define Lowcountry cuisine. Thanks so much for allowing us to be a part of your time in Charleston!
