We loved this tour! We were in town for a bachelorette trip and this was our first event of the weekend. Dani was our tour guide and she was so friendly and knowledgeable! We ate at 3 sit down locations, stopped at once spice store and then ended with desserts. Everything we had was so delicious and it gave us the opportunity to try a wide variety of foods. Definitely recommend a food tour if you’re visiting!

We really enjoyed this culinary walking tour which included 4 stops in 2 1/2 hours. Each stop offered very tasty and local food; we even went back to one of the stops (Oyster House) the next day for lunch! Our tour guide, Mary Lindsay, was outstanding. Having grown up in Charleston, her wealth of historical knowledge inter-twined with personal experiences, just made the tour even more delightful. NOTE: if you take the morning tour, you will not need lunch. And if you book the dinner tour, cancel your dinner reservations!!

The tour started near the market. The first stop was 3 biscuits (smaller size). These were excellent. However, we then sat near the market for 45 minutes and heard the history of food in Charleston. Next stop a tea/spice shop where we were able to try the free samples that were available to anybody who walked through the door. Next stop, River Street sweets. Three items were sampled. Then we went to two sit downs. One was bacon wrapped shrimp, she crab soup, rice, fritter, and ice tea. Lastly, swig and swine. Here we sampled one rib, some brisket, and corn homely. This was my least favorite food tours of all the food tours I have taken. Bull dog has the best ghost tours in town. I had hoped for more from this food tour. Would prefer less history and more food!
