The raft guide allowing my grandchildren, ages 6 and 8, to steer the raft and also jump in the Yellowstone River in a fairly calm part of the River. The grand kids loved it.

Our guide was so funny he made the trip. He made the float more exciting as the kids asked for more “rapids” he did his best to make that happen.

The best parts of our excursion were the rapids at the beginning of the float and passing the elk that were standing in the water as we floated by. After the small rapids at the beginning of our trip, the rest was more of a scenic float. I did not enjoy having to carry the raft down the steep hill to the water or standing on the hot rocks, with thin water shoes, for our safety lesson. The safety lesson could have been given in the lobby or on the bus. I would recommend bringing your own water socks or waterproof sandals. Also note, that the surrounding topography is desert, homes, and light industrial, not forrest as you would find inside Yellowstone park. This was somewhat dissappointing as we would have prefered to float in an area more similar to what you would find inside the park. Overall the trip was enjoyable and relaxing!
