The staff are a great bunch of people but there were some serious safety issues. I've been on a lot of kayaking excursions so I know a lot about the logistics of the put-in and take-out process. Rafting should be no different.
Severe safety issues
1) Our boat was the less dangerous scenic river ride but our other family members did the white water rafting. None of were provided helmets.
2) Out boat had 14 people in it and very crowded. It was so heavy, two customers had to hop out and get it past the rocks to launch, and another time the staff rower had to get out again to get it off the rocks.
3) Some members of my party complained that their rafting guide was ‘out of it’ having being up for the last 36 hours.
4) Both buses were packed elbow to elbow even with the whole aisle full of people on the way to the put in point.
5) Towards the put in point, the bus was going down a treacherous unpaved roadway down to the shore.
6) Customers had to walk over a very dangerous rocky part of the shore just to get to the rafts.
7) Guides rushing after trip not proactively telling customers to back away while they were loading the rafts. It was only when customers got in their way that they started telling customers to stand back.
8) Our bus another another bus had troubles starting and stalling
9) One of the bus seats was damaged.

I wanted to thank you for sharing your thoughts and feedback with us. I apologize that your experience was not what you expected. Our put in and take out's are indeed the most physically challenging part of the trip itself, although as much as we would like to make it an easier walk down the hill for customers.. it is best that we try to do our part to preserve the natural terrain of the Yellowstone river. As for the bus not starting, which I understand that may seem be concerning.. we had the starter replaced the same day and is not a safety concern for our customers. With the water levels being low, helmets have not been mandatory for quite some time throughout the season but we do have them readily available upon request. We want all our guests to be comfortable and have fun! Finally, I regret to hear you did not enjoy your experience with your guide. We pride ourselves on our raft guides and the experiences that they give our customers. We'd appreciate if you could call us at 406-848-2252 to discuss these matters further and make this right for you and your family! Thanks and have a great day. -Caitlyn
