As the Pigeon River comes out of the steeper parts of the gorge it calms down a bit. Beginning at our outpost, the Lower Section of the Pigeon River is perfect for those looking for a scenic float trip of the Smoky Mountains. Ages 3 and up. Experience is not required, and each raft will have one of our professional guides.

Public transportation options are available nearby
Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Minimum age: 3 years old
Guests will then meet their personal guide and recieve the necessary equipment,
Including a PFD (aka life jacket), helmet and paddle.
After your guide double-checks to make sure all equipment is fitted properly, guests then hop on our bus for a short 10-minute ride to the launching point for your trip.
All guest must have secured shoes on, NO FLIP FLOPS / NO BARE FEET

Wow’ This was so much fun. It’s an affordable adventure on the River. Our guide was awesome and made the trip so much fun. I wanted to do it twice. The scenery down the River is so beautiful.

Loved our trip with Huey! He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and we had an awesome trip! The girls in the office are also great! Thank you guys again for a wonderful experience

Just WOW!! Our family ranging from 6 to 70 had an absolute blast with Darrel U. on the scenic float. We loved floating (and getting splashed) on our raft and the views were absolutely gorgeous. Darrel ensured we had a fantastic, fun and safe experience and it is something we will all remember forever. So glad to have had the Big Creek Expeditions experience!
