À quoi s'attendre
1
Glacier National Park
As the audio guides play commentary based on your gps location, you can create your own itinerary along the tour route to match your interests and schedule.
2
Going-to-the-Sun Road
An engineering feat in Glacier National Park. Created specifically for visitors to drive over the Continental Divide. While it's a short, steep 50 miles, you'll want to spend most of a full day or longer taking in the numerous beautiful viewpoints. Or you can use our trip planners for our suggestions on half, full or multi day itineraries. Some of the many highlights are listed below;
3
Haystack Creek Culvert
Pretty waterfalls that flow directly beside the road. Though you won't see it as you drive over, there is a small arch that allows the water to pass directly under the road.
4
The Loop
Along the drive we will share stories of how this difficult road was planned and constructed. A great deal of care was taken to not "scar" the mountain landscape. The Loop is the location of the only switchback along the journey - surprising for a mountain road. The views from The Loop are impressive and the structures were hand built by stone masons.
5
Apgar Visitor Center
Located at the lower end of Lake McDonald and roughly 2 miles from the West Glacier Entrance, Apgar offers a visitor center, some gift and camping stores, dining, lodging and boat rentals. The Apgar Campground is the largest campground in Glacier National Park and almost always full.
6
Logan Pass
Logan Pass, the summit of the drive and the highest point we will reach as we cross the mountain pass and home to the Logan Pass Visitor Center. There is a selection of short or long hikes from here that will give you that incredible high alpine environment experience. Also a great place for spotting wildlife.
7
Lunch Creek
Just a few minutes drive to the east of the Logan Pass Visitor Center, Lunch Creek has been a favourite rest stop for many Going to the Sun Road visitors. If exploring, please stick to to the paved areas and designated trails to help prevent further erosion to this over-loved area.
8
Weeping Wall
If you are touring early in the season, you might get a free car wash at the Weeping Wall, as the snow melt showers over the road and your vehicle. By fall, you might be wondering what all the fuss was about.
9
10
Route vers le soleil
Une prouesse technique dans le parc national des Glaciers. Créé spécifiquement pour que les visiteurs traversent le Continental Divide. Bien qu'il s'agisse de 50 miles courts et raides, vous aurez envie de passer la majeure partie d'une journée complète ou plus à admirer les nombreux points de vue magnifiques. Ou vous pouvez utiliser nos planificateurs de voyage pour nos suggestions d'itinéraires d'une demi-journée, d'une journée complète ou de plusieurs jours. Certains des nombreux faits saillants sont énumérés ci-dessous;
11

We can’t comment on our experience because there wasn’t an experience. Park was closed because of snow.

Hi Joseph, the park was closed during your visit due to snow. Winter closures can sometimes affect access, so we always recommend checking the NPS park guidelines for the most up-to-date information before planning your trip. The good news is that my tour is valid forever. So whenever the park reopens, you can revisit and explore it thoroughly with the tour. We hope to join you on the road again soon!
