Maui Waveriders were AMAZING! I had made a mistake and booked our group lesson at Lahaina instead of Kihei. When we arrived at Kihei they were great about my mistake and were able to call in a surf instructor so we didn't have to reschedule. There was 2 adults and 4 teens in our group. Lewis was our instructor and he was great. He took the time to coach us all individually and we were all able to successfully surf within the first 2 tries. He was very knowledgeable about surfing and the area in general. His great personality made the whole experience fun. We had such a great experience that we ended up renting surf boards from them on two different days and enjoyed surfing on our own. I would highly recommend Maui Waveriders!

We were supposed to take 2 private lessons and instead ended up with a semi-private which worked out for my 10-year old and me. Jimmy was so great - super patient, really kind and made sure that we were safe (it gets crowded fast and not every group followed the "rules of the road" in terms of surfing and then getting out of the way for the next surfer(s). I really can't say enough good things about him. I'd ask for him personally if I were to take again. Also - the photos they got were amazing.

I always like to hear of parents taking a lesson together with their children, I know Jimmy takes every moments he can to head out and catch a couple waves with his teenager. First, I want to say that the customer service was great. Each employee of Maui Wave riders was friendly and very helpful. This was my daughters first time and Willy her instructor made it a memorable experience she will never forget. He was very attentive and his vast experience of the ocean and culture of surfing sure did rub off on my daughter. She was able to build the confidence over the 2 hour session to stand up a handful of times and also learn my her mistakes when she fell off. Lahaina is a magical place and I hope to come back and spend more time with my family. Mahalo, Jason
