We are a FUN SURF LA surf school based on Venice Beach. Our goal is for you to have an excellent experience surfing, whether it's your first time trying surfing or you are trying to advance your skills. For the first 30-40 minutes we will be training on the beach - then it’s one hour with the instructors in the ocean. The remaining time is yours to practice your skills and have fun with the surfboards that we provide you.

We’ll be giving lessons on Venice Beach - one of the most famous beaches in California. You’ll be able to not only enjoy the ocean and get surfing experience, but also explore the unique spirit of the eccentric cultural hub of Venice Beach.

We had an amazing time! It was our first time surfing and Jonathan was an excellent teacher. We got to see some leopard sharks in the water too!

What an incredible experience, especially for a first-time surf lesson! Leopard sharks must have been a cool sight while catching some waves. Jonathan sounds like a great instructor! Thanks for sharing! 🏄‍♀️🦈

The instructor was well experienced and helpful. The two hours went by in a flash it seems. Do make sure you're in good physical shape. Swimming back out after each try takes effort. It was a good experience overall and I got one or two almost good rides in.

It sounds like you had a great time! Surfing can be physically demanding, but it’s rewarding when you start catching those waves. Even a couple of almost-perfect rides shows progress—keep it up next time!

This was an awesome intro to surfing! Highly recommend it for the entire family not just the young ones. I’m 53 and I was able to get up on the board!
