Carlos was our guide from Border Tours:
He was the best, he took care of us and (even went past 6pm) made sure that we were all safe and having a good time.
Once in Mexico, we boarded a bus going to the downtown area - they erected a huge Silver Arch, that’s where there’s plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants, just few blocks away. First time on the bus we had an old man playing guitar in Spanish, returning we had 2 Mexican comedian clowns in full dress with big red shoes. No a/c and hilarious.
We spent some time in the welcome historic museum of TJ, no shortage of Taquerias, but welcome to the world of craft IPA beers - plenty of yummy stouts with hints if coffee and chocolate, some of the beers were +7%. Carlos really took care of us and showed us a good time, totally safe. Easy-parked for 8$ next to the border crossing and we just walked in, no searches or X-rays, only if you had a bag, passport 123...both ways.

There’s a McD right there at the Border crossing in San Diego, really enjoyed the papas fritas frescos after my first TJ adventure.
The round trip transportation was included, could have easily been 2 10$ cab rides (incl.tip)...so factor in transport, tacos, quite a few beers, with a personal guide - it was a very nice and memorable experience pour el dinero.
You should have a light snack before taking this tour - I definitely recommend this tour.
