Our company is uniquely owned by Native-Hawaiian watermen. As the only company of its kind on the island, we hope you'll support local. Our owners, Makua Rothman and Kala Alexander, have spent a lifetime in the water, and that respect and dedication has carried over to Haleiwa Shark Tours.

Such an amazing experience!! We saw lots of dolphins on the way out to the cage. The waves were intense but there were lots of sharks and they were so close. The crew was also very knowledgeable and wonderful. Highly recommend!!

Definitely a once in a lifetime adventure. The boat crew and photographer were great, and it was very cool to see sharks so close up.

We had a great experience. The winds were strong (~25 mph) in early April, making for a rough sea (~10 foot swells), so HST decided to not drop the cage. We were disappointed, but it would have been miserable. Luckily, we were able to rebook for free a few days later when the winds had died down <10mph and the sea was much calmer. We were worried about sea sickeness, but we were fine both days with dramamine the night before and an hour before departure. We saw several whales from a distance on the short ~15 minute ride out and back. It was incredible being in the water for 20 minutes with ~8 Galapagos sharks, about 7-10 feet long. No tigers or hammerheads. The cage wasn't as bad as anticipated (expected a "washing machine"), but I wouldn't call it a peaceful or serene experience either. You do feel like you have to hang on tightly with hands and feet as you are getting jostled around quite a bit. Totally worth it though, and I'm sure it's much calmer when the summer weather hits!
