Who knew there were so many great breweries in Baltimore? We didn't, until we took the City Brew Tour Baltimore. Our guide, Ryan, did a great job explaining the history of beer and sharing his knowledge and love of beer.
We started off a Heavy Seas brewery, which was huge. Definitely the largest brewery I've visited. We really liked the selection.
Then we went to Charm City Mead. I hadn't ever tried mead, but had read about it in Beowulf. It was pretty good and tasted similar to cider. It was Charm City's last day at this location before they move to their new spot so we're excited to see them grow.
Next we went to Brew House #16, an old firehouse converted into a Brewpub. Here, we had lunch, with each item paired with a taste of beer. We really liked the beer here, too, and the food was great as well.
Last stop was Diamondback Brewing Co. This brewery was in a space once occupied by Phillips Crab Co, so it too had some historic charm.
Overall a fun, convenient and safe way to tour Baltimore's beer scene.
