I enjoyed this stop off of I10 road trip. Small and manageable with a good tour guide and not too heavy on the revisionist 'we didn't do anything wrong'' history perspective. So not terribly offensive to progressive or multicultural visitors (some southern sites can be really only geared to southerns still waiting for the south to rise again). Home is lovely and trying hard to weather the storms from the Gulf. Group does a good job of presentation and the price is low and in line with the offering. Well worth a stop.

we were on a road trip Florida to Houston but could not arrive early in Texas so had a few hours to spare, so pleased we chose to spend them here. Donna the guide to house was outstanding. Whole place very informative. My wife had studied Jefferson Davis at University in England, and some other visitors to Belvoir from Northern USA were surprised when we as historians confirmed that UK broadly supported Confederacy , for economic reasons (cotton supply) and because UK opposed USA becoming strong in 1860s so soon after Independence. There were those who opposed South because of the slave issue but they were a minority. May challenge your set views.

My husband and I loved this tour! Our tour guide was extremely informative and very enthusiastic. The house is amazing and there is a cemetery in back of the property. Jefferson Davis' father is buried in this Confederate Soldier Cemetery. This is a must see for history lovers. If you can, visit Biloxi Visitor Center for a picture of this home after Hurricane Katrina hit, it is amazing.
