If your into history and education its well worth some time to visit. You can go as fast or as detailed as you wish, there are things to do outside and inside which makes if fun for children also. If you EVER has a chance to go during the reenactment you've GOTTA go, its the best deal ever.

This is a must visit for civil war buffs and our children to learn about our history. Although damaged in hurricane Katrina the rebuild and restoration stays true to the southern lifestyle.

Great Museum and Historical Main home and side cottages (Also Southern Presidential Library) Great Place to view the ocean, tour the Historical Homes and also many artifacts from the Southern Presidency during the Civil War. Be sure to visit the Presidential Library as it contains a lot about Civil War History. This Rivals many of the Presidential Librarys and Museums of the USA Presidents. Don't miss this. If the Tour Guide though goes on a bit too long then slip out for the Museum and it has a great gift shop. Well worth the visit.
