Route 66
After departing the Phoenix metro area, our tour travels through the expansive Sonoran Desert filled with the native saguaro cactus. The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.
2
Williams Depot
Williams will be our first stop along the tour for a chance to experience Route 66, the iconic American highway steeped in rich tradition. While in Williams, guests will have the opportunity to “get their kicks on Route 66” with walks along the original route, explore the local shops and capture souvenir photos highlighting a bygone era in classic American history. Also known as the Will Rodgers Highway, Route 66 is the most recognizable road in the United States and stretched 2,448 miles from Chicago to California upon completion.
3
Grand Canyon National Park
Just before entering the Grand Canyon National Park, you will be checked in for your 45 minute helicopter flight, spanning over 90 miles of the Grand Canyon. After your flight, your guide will bring you back into the National Park to discover more by foot. You will have opportunities to walk the rim, shop, capture an unlimited number of photographs, or relax with the best seat in the house. I enjoyed the tour but have a few observations. #1: Please alert those taking the helicopter ride that there is a $15 surcharge for fuel. I thought it was included in the price and when they asked for it at the counter, you feel like you're being gouged. Montana explained it to me but, in a day and age when you're getting hit for so many extra charges, especially on air travel, you feel like you're being tricked. Everyone is always trying to 'get you' and I felt this was an example of that. It's the little things that mess you up. #2.As a helicopter rider, I did not know that while I was on the helicopter, that others on the tour were seeing the South Rim. So, I missed that, which is one of my favorite parts of the tour. Yes, I saw it from the helicopter but there is nothing like walking it. But I did enjoy the helicopter ride. However, we made two other quick stops. #3 I didn't have the chance to stop and shop at any of the shops at the Canyon, which I missed. I see the Canyon ever year and enjoy shopping. The stop at the Indian Reservation wasn't a good replacement. #4.The sandwich we ordered on the bus was terrible. I think you meant well but it wasn't a good substitute for a meal. I liked the bus driver. He was very engaging and informative. He was also very kind about taking photos for me and the best shots were the ones he took.He also gave me tips about future trips with Viator as I'd like to spend the night there and take the mule ride next year. However, please pay him more so he can get his teeth fixed. I found his one tooth distracting and it takes away from his appearance and professionalism. Overall, it was worth doing and I would use Viator again but will ask more questions now that I know you can get surprises. Thanks to Montana for a great trip.

Awesome! Tour was fantastic, and Paul was wonderful! It's a very long day, however, Paul kept the group engaged and happy. Learned a great deal as well.

I was picked at my hotel and driven up to the Grand Canyon. I got on helicopter for first time and saw the majesty of the Grand Canyon. I wish to add that the tour guide was very knowledgeable and told us very interesting facts about the towns and attractions. I highly recommend this trip
