We had an amazing day seeing incredible sights and listening to stories from our very knowledgeable guide Cami! It would have been a lot more stressful trying to do this trip w/o a guide driving and instructing along the way.

After three canceled trips to Maui due to the pandemic, our extended family of 12 finally made it- ages 7 to 73. We were able to book a road to Hana Tours from Mahalo Tours on a recommendation from a concierge at the Marriott. We only wanted a Hawaiian owned company with Hawaiian tour guides and their website highlighted their spirit of aloha. Our guide Charlie was amazing. I knew we’d made the right choice when we saw another company’s busses at a Safeway, picking up lunch. We had a terrific hot lunch along the way, along with freshly baked muffins, Maui gold pineapple, Kula strawberries, grapes, fruit drinks, chips, cookies and bottles of cold water. We also stopped for 3 hot loaves of banana bread- all included in the tour cost. We made many, many stops, getting out of the van for photos, rather than our tour with another company several years ago- that driver would stop to let us take pictures through the windows. We liked that one but this experience made us realize that our comfort, safety and fun was their #1 priority. Charlie stopped many times to warn tourists about safety hazards along the way- things you can’t possibly know if you attempt to drive yourself, even though private property and hazard warnings are posted. Best experience ever!

Our tour guide, Charlie, was fabulous! He knew so much about Hawaiian history and culture. It was such a fun tour day! Charlie was knowledge about the Road to Hana and all of the sights. We had 16 stops. Charlie created a cultural experience of sights, music, and food. He shared local Hawaiian food with us throughout the day, including sweet breads, banana bread, strawberries, apple bananas, pineapple, grapes, chips, juices and water, including a traditional Hawaiian barbeque lunch. It was a wonderful tour!
