Explore San Diego's hidden gem of snorkeling! Everyone who visits San Diego knows about La Jolla, but did you know there's an even better snorkeling spot? Avoid the big waves and crowds with this more relaxed snorkel experience geared for all skill levels.

I taught middle and high school marine biology for more than a decade before committing to environmental tourism! With fifteen years of teaching youth and adults in outdoor education settings, plus my background in conservation biology, provides guests with in-depth (pun intended) knowledge of marine life during our snorkel.

Groups are small (maximum of 5 participants, with occasional exceptions for private groups/families) which makes a more intimate and personal experience.

We had a fantastic time snorkeling with Matt! My kids and I had never snorkeled before, and Matt was great explaining the process clearly and making sure we were safe. He knows the bay and its inhabitants well, and took us where he anticipated the marine life would be hanging out. We got to see a brittle star, Garibaldi damselfish, an octopus, and a crab! Matt shared fun facts about everything we saw, and his enthusiasm was contagious. I highly recommend booking with Matt! We hope to visit the tide pools with him the next time we are in the area.

We had an amazing experience with SnorkelMatt! From the very start, communication was excellent—Matt responded quickly to all our questions and made planning a breeze. His knowledge of the local ecosystems made the trip even more fascinating, and he did a fantastic job making our group (including first-time snorkelers) feel totally comfortable in the water. Our Marine Biology 101 trip with Snorkel Matt was magical and memorable in spite of the chilly December water temps! We definitely recommend the experience!
