We always take a trolley tour the first time visiting a city. This was the first time for a train type of vehicle. The previous ones we've taken have all been the traditional trolley type of vehicle. While the train style offers much more seating it can be a challenge getting on the cars. The 2 steps are very steep and the opening to the seats are narrow making it hard to maneuver if you have knee problems. The first trolley had a lift on one of the cars but the driver refused to let us use it. He said we needed to go to another stop and wait for a trolley to come there with a lift. Strangely, the trolley that showed up there did not have a lift, but there was a curb there to help with the first step and the opening to the row especially the last row was a little wider which made it a little easier to maneuver. However, I was so afraid to get off at any stops for fear I wouldn't be able to get back on, That kind of ruined the true on off experience that we enjoy on these tours. We saw a few other people struggle to get on at other stops.
