We're locals who took visitors on the trolley so we didn't need to walk around as much. LOVED IT! Our guide, Payton, was very knowledgeable and even threw some humor into the tour. We had a family member who needed extra assistance getting into the trolley, and the very accommodating gentleman at the depot brought out a step ladder bc the steps are on the high side. We saw all the big sites in the historic area and made a list of things to visit after learning about them. We will definitely do this again!
Pro tips:
-purchase your tickets online to save the time in line at the stops. We had the QR code on my phone and walked right into the queue at the Old Jail (stop #1) to receive our stickers. Those stickers are your ticket to ride.
-go EARLY. We scheduled our ride for a Saturday and arrived around 10. Each stop was progressively busier and the lines to get on the trolley longer. When we arrived back at the Old Jail at 11:30, the plaza with the ticket booths and queue was PACKED...and it was warm and humid.
