We were told when we purchased a clipper monthly ticket it would include ferries , cable cars , and buses in SF At pier 39 we were directed to Blue and gold where a member of staff said it would be fine . When we tried to board we were told that we had to PAY to get to Sausalito , but the return would be covered by the Clipper card. On the return journey we were told this was not true and had to pay again . In addition they would only accept cards not cash It is a nice ride but it would have been so much better is we had not been told by SO many staff we would NOT have to pay , only to find out they would not let us off the boat until we paud twice . Ironically , it was the same members of Staff that told us we had to pay , that had originally told us the return journey wiuld be cvered by the Clipper card

Hello there, I am the manager with Blue & Gold Fleet, and you are allowed to use your Clipper Card for Sausalito. Both to and from. We have Clipper Readers that we borrow every week so that we may scan the Clipper Cards. The only reason we would ask you to purchase a ticket on the boat is if you had insufficient funds on your card. My family used the Blue and Gold Fleet to SF after biking across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito.The ladies who worked at the area when the ticket kiosks are and where you line up to board were super nice and friendly. The price to take the ferry is quite reasonable and it’s nice they don’t charge extra for your bike. The man who instructs you where to put you bike on board is militant. He basically yells at people and throws the bikes on top of each other. I felt bad for anyone with an expensive bike the way he tossed them into each other. Mine was a rental and I was seriously concerned they were going to charge us for damage. As we walked up to the deck to find seating people were talking about him throwing their bikes around. Perhaps he was having a bad day. It did seem like a lot of work for one person to be doing. Hopefully it was fluke.

We got to the dock early so we could get seats outside. It was a gorgeous day and we were looking forward to a pleasant boat ride. At the last minute a lot of bicyclists arrived, lined up in the bike lane, and boarded first. When we got on all the outside seats were taken by the bikers. So we ended up below deck, looking out a dingy window. My husband was able to squeeze in on the upper deck to get some photos of the scenery. I would have enjoyed this much more if we could have been outside. i'm disappointed.

Hi there, that must have been a lot of bikes that day to force you all inside. Normally the boat allows for all to have access to both the inside and out. Happy that your husband was able to take some photos.
