My friend and I both went on the Women of New Orleans tour; I went on the Strange True Tour another evening solo. I had a fantastic time on both tours. They both are factual and historical, Jeffery does his research on what really went on with the who's who of New Orleans. As you can imagine it's quite hot midday, he is very considerate, speaks in the shade, takes his time walking and even lets his participants sit for a spell. The Women of New Orleans Tour covers several women from 1800s to current day, known for exceptional courage along with scandal. I had very fortunate luck of having the evening Strange True Tour all to myself. I'm a history nut and was very pleased with Jeffery's narrative of major historical events and other New Orleanian customs along the way. I highly recommend taking any or all 3 of the tours Strange True Tours offer. They are personal, factual, humorous and interesting. I agree with others, take this tour early in your trip. Whenever I return to New Orleans I will be taking his cemetery tour, I didn't have enough time this trip and he's the only one I know who offers parasols (it's gets very hot in the cemeteries!)

On Sunday August 14 my husband and I took the Women of New Orleans tour. We purchase 1/2 price tickets from Groupon, and we were SO glad that we did. The tour meets @ Antoine's Annex on Royal Street. You can get a drink there to take on the tour with you, which you will want, as it is very hot in the summer months in New Orleans. My husband and I were the only ones who had booked for that day so we had a private tour, which was wonderful. Jeffrey is a fabulous tour guide. It's obious that he puts a lot of time and effort into researching the history that he describes. It was starting to sprinkle a little just before we started our tour, Jeff had umbrellas for us to use which I thought was a really thoughtful touch. He also makes every effort to stop in the shade or at a bench when telling a story. My husband and I both found this tour so interesting and informative. My favorite story was about Norma Wallace, a New Orleans Madame. Jeff has even encouraged me to pick up the book about her, I want to learn more about her life. If you're thinking this is a sappy girlie tour, you could not be more wrong. These are some bad --- chicks! Do yourself a favor and book this tour with Jeff. You will not regret it. We are going to book the Strange True Tour, I'm anxious to do that one after having done this tour.

Jeffery was the most considerate tour guide I've ever met! It gets hot in New Orleans, very hot, especially in the summer. We were on a number of tours while there in August and I have to say a good deal of the tour guides just wanted to get the tour done or they were in a hurry to get to the next spot. Jeffery took his time with our small group of just 4, always took us into the shade to explain things, and even let us sit down for a good while. The tour we went on was the Women of New Orleans and it was very interesting and in depth. I will definitely go on another Strange True tour next time I'm in New Orleans!
