Fun, but crazy. Loaded up at 615. Headed to snorkel sight while the sun set. Restrooms on board. Took about 25 mins to get to snorkel sight. Everyone was given masks and wet suit top during the ride over. I was nervous, but upon arriving noticed about 5 other boats in area with others laying out on lit up boards. This made me less nervous. We all climbed off boat and scurried to a lighted surf board with plastic handles hanging off the board. Crew gave us pool noodles to hold our feet up, so we wouldn't kick. The manta rays don't like feet dangling and won't come over. Once we all were situated, we heaved up and down with the waves. My arms got tired quickly trying to hold on and my mask leaked water. A manta ray showed up about 10 minutes in. Seen other fish swimming too. Peeps yelled thru masks when manta rays appeared. Freaky, they came right up to board and flipped upside down and slid down the length of the board. Not allowed to touch the manta ray's, but they do rub against you. One lady on our boat did get sick and threw up while on the board in the water. Grossed me out, Luckily she was about 6 people away from me. We stayed out about 45 minutes. We had about six manta ray's slide our board during entire duration. Little kids were restless and didn't want to stay in or kicked there feet. Hubby and I both were ready to quit once they announced 5 mins left. I got cold and my arms hurt. It was interesting and we were both glad we did it, but won't do it again. Cold going back. Some got seasick on way back. Drinks and chip ahoy cookies offered on ride back. Bring a dry shirt for ride back as it gets cold. I wouldn't bring a young child, as they had to be patient and wait for manta to show and you had ensure your child was holding on to the strap along with yourself. Crew great and helped bring kids back to boat when bored or scared.
