In my Mom’s words, our boat ride with Tim was “magnificent”! I was worried there would be a cancellation from low attendance (Sunday during the off season), but they stuck with it and it turned out to be a private tour for just my Mom and myself! I booked this for our birthday weekend (we are 3 days apart) because she wanted to be on the water but none of the dinner cruises appealed to me (they were after dark...what are we looking at?) Tim was entertaining and more than accommodating with the photo moments, rotating the boat here and there for our shots and he knew exactly when to expect them before we even asked. He offered great music and conversation, and wasn’t intrusive with the narration of the scenery and points of interest (we aren’t a boisterous pair, we tend to just soak things up in silence). We had perfect timing with a pod of dolphins that were amused with the fluttering flag at the back of the boat, and they even raced us for a bit! That was so unexpected that my Mom gasped like a kid when she saw how close they were. The only thing that topped that was the view of the sunset once we got to the gulf—it caught her by surprise and Tim gave us ample time to just sit in silence on the water as we watched it set (I never realized how fast it descends once the sun touches the horizon). I’m so happy Tim delivered an unforgettable experience for my mom and me.
FYI: It’s an intimately-sized boat meaning no toilet so strategize beforehand! Also if you’re new to boating, bring a jacket because the wind chill was definitely a factor when we sped up and after the sun went down.
