Dave the owner is a horrible person and our experience with him and his shop was terrible. This ad does not mention this is a GROUP LESSON WITH 7 other new learners! Our son has been taking private lessons for 2 weeks at other islands and shops and this was our first experience with this shop. Upon arrival at his shop, Dave was rude by treated us extremely poorly. When I told him $129/hr is the going rate for private lessons and since our son already was advanced in surfing, he did not want to take the beginners group lesson being offered, Dave blew up and started yelling at me in front of my family, his employees and other customers telling me to call Viator to cancel?! We left with utter disbelief about this awe-full experience and called another surf shop to schedule private lessons for our son. His false and misleading advertisement to unsuspecting travelers like us is deplorable, and is behavior in treating his first-time customers gets the worst rating I can give to him and his shop!

My 13 year old son got up right away and said it was because the instructors helped so much. They were in the water for a solid 2 hours.

my son who is 190 pounds loved it and could keep up my daughter who is 125pounds struggled greatly..

Aloha Lindsey, this is a ocean activity..... we are going surfing ........why would you say this is a scary experience.... some people do not have the body strength and endurance....... I'm sure you got great customer service.....and your kids had a good time, enjoying the beautiful scenery..... hope you can enjoy hawaii.....mahalo.
