Join us on a delicious “multi–ethnic” food tasting and cultural/historical journey through the Heart & Soul of Greenwich Village (The Central Village – the area surrounding Washington Square Park and New York University). Find out why this area of the Village is so popular for its diverse food scene, rich history, culture, counter culture, distinct architecture, and vibrant Greenwich Village nightlife.

We will also visit Washington Square Park and learn about its radical protesters, infamous hanging tree, the Washington Square Arch, and walk the same streets that Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Amy Schumer did while learning about the music and comedy scene, and why this section of NYC can only be described as The Village!

We will visit Washington Square Park (the town square of Greenwich Village) and learn about its radical protesters, infamous hanging tree, the Washington Square Arch, and how the “live and let live” beatniks, writers and poets of the 50s and 60s made Greenwich Village their home.

Our tour guide was great and the none food related portion of the tour was wonderful, but I'm giving this tour 3.5 stars because we felt that the food was not worth the price paid for the tour, especially if you have specific dietary restriction. Highlight for us was the spinach + cheese empanada with rice and beans at Cuban restaurant, the Porto Roco Importing Co. and Sullivan Street Tea & Spice Company. The latter two shops we visited after the tour to purchase coffee beans and teas as gifts. We felt, a neighborhood walking tour without the food would have been better for us.

I'm so sorry that you did not enjoy all of the food, we do offer a vegetarian option at every tasting stop, but if there was anything specific that you didn't enjoy, or can't have, you can always email us in advance so we have more info. We do our best to serve what represents the restaurant and establishments that we visit in the neighborhood, and sometimes there is not always a "next best option" suitable for our tours or someones specific allergy. But yes, it is a full neighborhood culture and history tour that you get, as well as a full meal, and for less than $80 with the crazy NYC prices now, we think that's a pretty good deal! Thanks for giving us a shot and hopefully we can eat with you again!

My mom, sister and I really enjoyed the food tour of Greenwich Village. Our tour guide, Ryan, was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable about the city and the area we were touring. He was great at getting all of us to chat and have fun together while we toured. The establishments we visited were fabulous as well. Loved the Cuba restaurant as well as Montes for our sit down tastings. The pizza restaurant, Artichoke, offered us huge half slices of the Margarita pizza as well as smaller (but plenty large) portions of the artichoke pizza. I’m dreaming about that Margarita pizza…. The other stops for iced tea, coffee beans and chocolate were great as well. We definitely got plenty of food- the price of the tour felt like a great value for all that we received! We will definitely be back to NYC and plan to attend another tour with this company.

Our guide Ryan was very helpful and he had a lot of history about the area and the restaurants we visited. The was delicious.
