After searching for passes for NYC we opted for this one as it included the hop on and off bus for the duration of the pass. We bought a 5 day pass off groupon, extra discount $230 (£180) each. This meant we had to collect our passes at Port Authority on 42nd st, it was handy for us cause we were staying on 46th st and a 5min walk to PA. We only needed a 4 day pass but it was cheaper to purchase a 5day one on groupon.
I downloaded the sightseeing nyc app and used their itinerary tool to organised what attractions to do on each day, which was great cause it meant I was making the most out of the pass and not wasting time. We used 17 attractions in the 4 days, the app records this for you and the price it would have cost me each individually which said $587. So apparently I saved just over $350. I could have used the pass for the airlink nyc to the airport on the last day, but we forgot to ring to make a reservation, there’s always that option if you’ve bought an extra day. The pass didn’t include the Empire State Building, but has the one world observatory and TOTRock. We did all 3, paid separately for Empire State, it was not the best out of the 3 to be honest.
The pass also included a few lunch vouchers (Buffalo wild wings, planet Hollywood, bucas, perfect picnic, 10% off johns pizza) free food who would complain. On our 2nd day we got to hire a bike for Central Park, cycle to whole park making stops at the zoo, have a picnic and go to the national museum all on the pass. Then in the evening we got to do Madame Tussaud’s, Riplys believe it and TOTRock also all on the pass.
The bus was good for us to catch to get to the Statue of Liberty tour and the 9/11 memorial and world trade centre. We also did the night bus tour to Brooklyn. When we were there the buses were 20/30 min wait. We also spent one of the days at the outlet and this pass comes with a return ticket to Woodbury commons outlet. You have to collect your ticket at the office before you board that bus tho! If you’re into designers totally worth the trip. We also did a MSG tour which was great.
I’m not really sure how much I saved, because there’s lots of offers about, but if you’re planning to do a lot then this might be worth your while.
