Joel was an amazing, energetic, interesting and fascinating tour guide. We did the tour on day one of our trip to South Beach. My husband and I are in our 60s and we are here walking about the jubilant Spring Break crowd on our vacation and it would be easy to miss the buildings for all of the happy hubbub! Joel provided us with the stories that made the place more understandable and offered the inspirational tales of how just a few people can have enormous impact on an area. His explanations were not too much information in the way that some tours are, when rattled off without regard to listeners. Instead, Joel provided the right amount of information to inspire, intrigue and entertain. So many of the highlights are within a small geographical radius that we had walked by the previous day thinking, "oh, that's nice," without any idea of how these places came to be designed and why they are still here. Go on this tour and help the Miami Design Preservation League to do its good work for this community - you won't regret it!
