Julie led a great and informative tour. Fascinating history of South Beach and the evolution and preservation of the Art Deco buildings of South Beach.

Julie was an AMAZING tour guide. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the neighborhood and its history and she gave us a solid introduction to the concept of art deco. The tour went longer than expected, 2.5 hours and every minute was packed with information. It was one of the best walking tours we have ever been on. It increased our understanding and appreciation of the South Beach area and made us feel we made the best use of our short visit. They provided us with headsets which made it easy to hear Julie over the sounds of the street- as long as we could keep up with her! The only thing that could have been improved was the size of the group- it was a huge group of over 30 people and would be better with a limit on size.

Highly recommended. I knew South Beach had deco buildings, but didn't know how many, or how much work was involved in preserving them. This area of the city is an architectural oasis. Our guide, Missy, was wonderful. She gave us a lot of information, but organized it so it was easy to remember. We looked at many buildings from the outside, learning distinguish among the various deco -- and imitation deco -- styles. She also took us inside some buildings, to show us the murals and architectural details that remain. I loved her stories about all the people involved in creating and restoring the area. Take this tour. It was a highlight of my visit to Miami.
