This tour was amazing. Our driver and tour guide Kawika is an amazing human being as well as a great driver and tour guide. We got an amazing tour, we stopped by the rainbow trees, waterfalls, black sand beach and even the red sand beach. The black sand beach was beautiful, we went into the lava tube and climbed the path to the top of the hill where there was an amazing view. We ate our lunch there at the picnic tables. It was a great time at that stop. We stopped and seen the turtles and surfers at Turtle Beach which was amazing. Kawika was very knowledgeable while still being very personable and was able to answer all our questions. He is such a good driver, It was a very relaxing beautiful drive. We got to stop at a couple places to shop and of course we made a banana bread stop. He even let us stop at a little stand to buy a locals coconut brittle which was delicious. I will never forget Kawika or this amazing experience.

After looking at a few companies, I am so glad we went with Aloha Sunshine Tours. Shelly, our amazing Hana local picked us up promptly at 6am in front of our hotel. She MADE this trip incredible! She told stories of her family, her ancestors and knew everything about the road to Hana. Her passion for her family and their history shined through and you could tell she loved sharing this beautiful place with others. She timed the weather so well skipping stops if they were raining and coming back when they were sunny. Her driving was smooth and safe, and as someone who gets carsick I never got close to getting queasy (a big fear I had). The waterfalls, beaches, banana bread, local shop stops were all great. The biggest perk was that we started early and had a leg up over other cars and tours as most were behind us. Had we driven this ourselves I know we wouldn’t have been as relaxed as we were, nor had we been able to truly understand the land and people who make it. Book here, you won’t regret it!
