Being from the Boston area I am familiar with the Freedom Trail and it's many highlights. On this day I had my grandchildren with me and wanted them to hear about the history behind the many historic sights on the trail. Our tour guide, Caitlin Johnston did not disappoint! Even though the group was large, she kept us together and was loud enough over all the city noise. As an elementary teacher, I knew much of the history but was so impressed with her knowledge and learned so much more. The great part of the Freedom Trail is that after you take the tour you can just follow the red bricks and return to the sights and buildings and explore further on your own. Many of the historic buildings are open and free. This tour is why it is a great beginning for first time visitors unfamiliar with the city. Boston is called a walking city because you really can get to so many areas easily. Hope you get Caitlin Johnston! Outstanding tour guide!

Deacon John Larkin was the best! Dressed in character and obviously a true patriot, our tour guide was knowledgable and enthusiastic. We had a large group on a hot day but he rallied us all. He knew his facts but passionately spoke from the heart. Our walking tour was fascinating. Each stop provided more insight to history than could have been gleaned on your own. I loved that our guide spoke about how freedom was something worth dying for and protecting- a real treasure we pass down to our children. At one point, I was shedding tears. It was a memorable experience.... Thank you Richard!

My family of five - including two adult children and a 10-year-old all agreed this tour was a highlight of our stop in Boston. We were driving from NYC to Maine for the second leg of vacation and decided to spend a few hours in Boston soaking up a bit of history. Caitlin was the perfect guide!! She kept us entertained while teaching us so many new facts. Her voice was loud and clear and she constantly checked to be sure we were all happy and answered any and all questions. I overheard her going into detail with someone who asked a totally unrelated historical question. Very impressed! I would recommend this 1.5 hour tour to anyone-we learned so much more than we would have on our own.
