Truro Cape Cod Lighthouse and Highland House Museum Tour

Aperçu
Join us for an unforgettable voyage through the Outer Cape! Our expedition will commence with a picturesque drive through the Provincelands National Seashore, where we'll marvel at three ancient lighthouses that have safely guided seafarers for generations. Next, we'll journey to the Truro Highland Lighthouse for a guided tour of the towering structure – you'll even have the opportunity to climb to its summit! This remarkable lighthouse boasts a museum and a charming gift shop, offering awe-inspiring, panoramic vistas of the Atlantic coastline. To conclude our day, we'll take a tranquil stroll to the Highland House Museum. This true hidden treasure showcases the diverse maritime, Native American, and American art history all under one roof—just a friendly reminder: the Highland House Museum reopens on June 1st. You'll have ample time to explore the National Seashore by booking before then. I'm excited to share this incredible experience with you!

Here we will stop and allow for an approximate 90 minute tour of both the Cape Cod Light and the Highland house Museum. We will join guided tours for both and be able to climb to the top of the oldest and tallest light house on Cape Cod! The Highland Light was built in 1797 and is rich in maritime history. This will be a guided tour of the lighthouse and we'll be able to climb to the very top! After we will enjoy a 10 minute stroll to the Highland House museum. This is a fabulous museum where Henry David Thoreau stayed while working on his great novel Cape Cod. The museum once was the 1st hotel on the outer Cape and each room has been turned into "museum rooms" depicting what life would have been like living in the 1800's. The museum is also filled with maritime, Indian and art history. The great artists Edward & Josephine Hopper, have their very own room showcasing some of the incredible produced in the early to mid 1900's.
