Mission San Xavier del Bac
Founded by Spanish Jesuit Priest Eusebio Kino, this historic church remains an active Franciscan mission located in the San Xavier District of the Tohono O’odham Nation. The building of this spectacular example of Mexican Baroque architecture began in 1783 and work continued for 14 years before funds ran out. Often referred to as the “White Dove of the Desert” the building is currently undergoing careful restoration. Tumacacori National Historical Park
Tumacácori National Historical Park protects the remains of three Spanish missions to the O’odham people.
