The lookout points that the tour takes you on were amazing. The app was a little ahead of where we were in the park so sometimes we had to drive a little before we got to the spot. Be prepared to stop after a while and pay for park entry if you didn't already. Also, the last stop is at the top of Cadillac Mountain and you need a Reservation to go up so we didn't have a chance to see it. Well worth the $8

Once we figured out the app our trip was amazing. We were in Acadia National Park. We stopped at all the scenic spots the guide recommended.Most beautiful sites of nature I’ve ever scene. The narration was informative but not boring. When we stopped the app picked up where we were. In this time of COVID so much better than being in a tour bus plus we could spend as much or as little time at each scenic view as we wanted. Our party of 4 all agreed it was perfect.

Overall this Self Guided tour is great for several reasons. You can stop at anytime and get out to site see, eat lunch or shop. I also like the fact that you can use it again if you want. The information was very good for the most part and I like that it keeps track of where your vehicle is. As to what I had a problem with. The tour wants to take you up Cadillac mountain, but you have to have a reservation to drive up. Since the reservation has to be made in advance, Cadillac Mountain should be removed from the tour. I also thought that the Tour would take you back to the start but it ends at Cadillac Mountain. The last thing is that sometimes there is not enough warning that you will be pulling over to see something until you have passed the spot. Again, the tour is really great but they just need to update it for Cadillac Mountain.

Thanks so much! I’m thrilled you enjoyed visiting Acadia with our tour! The Cadillac question is a frustrating one…. the park has been experimenting with new ideas for the last two years. We hope that they choose to handle Cadillac differently next year so we don’t want to delete all of those stories yet (plus, there are phenomenal views from up there!). They may also change the dates that visitors are required to get reservations (currently from May through October). For the time being, you can still listen to the stories of Cadillac manually — just swipe right from one story to the next!
