Best tour ever!
So glad we did this tour.
Our guide, Rob, was highly informative and has a great knowledge of the area with his background in permaculture. He is passionate and enthusiastic and a pleasure to hang out with for 4 hours.
Jump in the bus, drive to launch site with Rob providing fun commentary for the short 5 min trip, Kayak up the river, park your boat, walk up a very well worn and clear path, crossing rivers with a hand rope, crossing creek beds, shin deep in mud, learning about the area and Hawaiian traditions along the way. Slippery and very muddy path, but it was fun and a 5 yo in our group handled it well, along with people of all shapes, sizes and ages.
At the end of the walk, you see the huge waterfall crashing into the swimming pool! Simply breathtaking - a bucket list item ticked off as we swam under the waterfall.
The power of that water is unbelievable.
The water was refreshingly cool, not cold.
You take your own food and snacks with dukes, meaning a cheaper price than other companies that provide you with food (pineapple and cans of Soda was provided for those on other tours)
The Kayak back to land was challenging as it was a strong wind that day, but we all made it back safely.
Lots of other kayakers on the river, as well as stand up paddle boarders. Only 2 power boats went past slowly, making for some fun waves.
Dry packs are provided for your belongings.
Their website is slightly confusing - it states $50 per person, but as you go through the booking process, and I entered 4 people onto my booking, the price dropped to only $38 pp - best money we’ve spent so far!
Highly recommend and would go again!
