The falls were beautiful and fun to swim in. The hike was pretty muddy in some parts. The guide did a nice job of leading us and shared lots of interesting information.

This was a great adventure made even better by our guide, friend and teacher Hawaiian Brian. Being born and raised on the Island, Hawaiian Brian gave us a unique insight into the culture and ecology of this incredible island. Hawaiian Brian’s in-depth knowledge of the native plants and culture gave us a complete look and makes this adventure a must do on your check list. Great job and thank you

Fantastic trip but not for the faint of heart. River trip was sunny - recommend a long sleeve UPF tee that dries quickly. Very rough hike to the falls. Traverse the river multiple times up to waist deep water, slosh through slippery, gooey mud for a large part of the hike, exposed roots, small, steep climbs in mud - pretty brutal for older folks or wee ones. Plus, as the day goes on, narrow trail becomes more crowded, more used, and more sloppy. Recommend sturdy hiking sandals that can get wet and muddy. I wore running tights under my swim suit. I wore Teva/Chaco styled sandals and they weren’t sturdy enough. Recommend more sturdiness if you can. Recommend first voyage of the day as the trail and falls becomes more crowded. At the falls, no place to picnic, or change clothes, or pee. Just a bunch of rocks to make your own “place.” Water was cold but a blast to swim in. The falls was tall and raging so it took some bravery to swim behind and in. Worth it 100%. Overall a great trip. One of the highlights of our week.
