I realize this tour has many positive reviews, but I don’t get it. We are not a high maintenance family and we loved everything about our DC vacation EXCEPT for this tour. For a sliver of the cost, we could have hired a Lyft driver to transport us between monuments and been much happier for it. For our group of six, this was essentially a $400 golf cart ride around the Mall. We only made two stops (FDR/MLK and Lincoln/Vietnam, although there wasn’t enough time to see the Vietnam) and when I asked if we could stop at other monuments, the guide bristled in response and was rather rude about it. Plus, the commentary offered was mostly nonsense. We were told the statue on the Capitol Building weighs 9,000 tons, Rembrandt was Italian, and Native Americans are afraid of corners. Really? No, no, and no — and no to the list of other odd, nonsensical things stated. We weren’t expecting a DC historian for guide, but for the price of this tour, the guide should have been reasonably knowledgeable about the area and the monuments and not just making stuff up. My advice -- book a different tour, or just wait until it's actually dark outside and then hire a Lyft driver to take you between the clusters of different monuments.
