Continue on towards Capitol Hill to be astounded by the Capitol Building. End your tour on a high note by asking your guide for some recommendations for the rest of your stay in the city. Your eco-friendly, open-air electric cart allows you to enjoy fresh air and great views as you tour the city. Your guide also points out festivals, exhibits, demonstrations or special events that may be occurring in this lively city. After a 2-hour tour, you'll return to the Smithsonian complex where your tour ends.

The monuments in moonlight are awesome. The electric carts are great transportation. And our driver, Monty, was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, very personal, kept things fun, played to his mixed audience (adults and children) very well. But 2 hours just isn't enough time for this tour. Our group was only allowed out of the cart just twice. Once at the Lincoln Memorial, with so little time that you couldn't both run up to the top of the Lincoln Memorial and run over to the Korean War Memorial, and if you did there was no time at all to even really glimpse the Vietnam Memorial, all of which was right there. Then a second time at the Martin Luther King Memorial, which we didn't really even care to spend time at, but it was a bathroom stop for the group, too. Otherwise, we literally only stepped out to photograph the White House, and that was only because we asked. The rest of the sights were drive-by only, with driver narration. Which was very good, of course. But we came to SEE the memorials, and took this trip supposedly because of the ability to see the war memorials at night-time. Frankly, just driving by the World War II Memorial is a disservice to the nation! My recommendation to the company running this tour is that you increase it to 3 hours....assumingly, of course, it would cost more...but that would make all the difference in the world! Until then, my recommendation to drivers would be to poll their participants' interests, and customize the tour accordingly. And to participants, to express your priorities openly at the start of the tour.

We're glad you enjoyed your time with Montie and our all-electric Red Roadsters and are disappointed you didn't enjoy our itinerary. While we would love to stop at all the incredibly moving and important Memorials on the National Mall but we strove to design an overview tour that touches on the history of Washington, DC and allows our guests to visit some of the most popular Memorials. We agree that the World War II Memorial is a must-visit, however without parking and located on a busy road it is nearly impossible to visit on our daily tours. However, we are happy to work with our guests to include it in any Private Tour booking.

We did this tour to see the monuments at night - the information given was fine but if you do a daytime monument tour you may not need to spend the money - just pick a monument and visit at night on your own. I did not like driving on the main roads in a golf cart - it did not feel terribly safe next to the Greyhound buses expelling exhaust on top of you...

My family loved this tour! Tim was a wonderful guide. He was friendly, informative and funny. My twin sons (aged 7) felt comfortable and he made a point of speaking directly to them at different points during the tour. It was an ideal length and the time given to us at the various stops was more than sufficient. We liked being in the smaller vehicle and in the open air. I will definitely recommend this tour to family and friends visiting D.C.
