The drive to the meeting point was about 45 min from downtown Asheville. Make sure you eat a good breakfast before your hike. It is a very popular route with many visitors. If there is an opportunity for the tour group to drive the van vs everyone driving their own vehicle....take it! It gets very congested on the side of the road with all the folks trying to enjoy natures beauty. The reason for the early start is because the destination is popular with people arriving mid to late morning. As far as snacks go, there was no designated time to sit an eat snacks. I tried to fit them in between stopping points. If you get car sick or nauseous zipping down the from the 4710 elevation levels bring some peppermint candy or peppermint essential oils to dab under your nose. Depending on the time of year you venture on your hike, layering clothes is always better than not enough.

My favorite part of the experience: everything!!! We loved the forest, but we loved more Paul our guide. He told us at the beginning he would set the bar high and he didn't disappoint, he went above and beyond. He is a truly passionate guide and it translates. We had so much fun and since it was only our family he was flexible and took his time explaining and showing us the Blue Ridge Parkway. The forest and the waterfalls were awe inspiring. We will definitely be back and we couldn't ask for a better tour guide. If you tour with the Asheville experts and you should, please appreciate their efforts, they are truly great individuals who loved their environment and just wants us to love it as much as they. From the bottom of our hearts, thanks Paul for showing us around, you are a truly beautiful human being.

Incredible trip. Beautiful scenery and learned an incredible amount about western North Carolina. Chris was an excellent guide!
