My wife and I paddled the Wekiva River while we were in Orlando visiting our son. It was a very cold March morning but after we met our guide, Matt, he assured us that the water was warm, the sun would shine and there was no reason to not go. We made the right decision. Our eight mile, four hour paddle was over too quickly. Along the river we saw lots of wild life while being expertly informed by our guide. If you are not Parks People and are looking for a great experience, I would recommend this alternative activity - a Florida river paddle on the wild and very scenic Wekiva River.

We wanted to do something different from the theme parks this visit to Orlando. We are so grateful we chose to go Kayaking. The Wekiva river was beautiful. We saw numerous species of birds, as well as several turtles. And of course if you want to see alligators, this is the way to do it. Our guide Jeff was knowledgeable as well as personable. If you are looking for a peaceful, fascinating experience, go Kayaking down the Wekiva. And tell Jeff hello for us.

Wekiva river is a wonderful spot to discover by kayak. Our guide was Jeff, who knew the name of all of the birds and animals and entertained us during the entire length of the trip. He was a real GUIDE, added lots of value to the trip with information he shared and his happy mood. We saw turtles, birds and alligators! The scenery of the whole trip is marvellous! We are from Hungary. I recommend this trip to everyone who likes kayaking, interested to see animals and love nature.
