Positive:
Guides were friendly, the mountain views were nice and they had refreshments as well.
Not giving any more than two stars due to an odd situation that didn't make the horse back ride enjoyable or worth the cost.
Negative:
Even though I am an intermediate horse rider - grew up around horses, rode around 30-40 times, know my way around a horse; the staff undermined my experience and put me in the back of the group, albeit, behind people who have never even rode a horse before.
When they were assigning horses, one of the staff singled me out and asked me extensive questions about my experience riding horses and seemed dissatisfied with my answers and gave a quick "mhm ok" at the end of her questioning. She was no where near as thorough with the others riders who put themselves in the intermediary group.
After questions, she asked my name and went straight to the person assigning horses based on skill and started whispering to him. I could tell at that point, she had decided my experience level for me, regardless of me being an intermediate rider.
I asked the guy assigning horses if I was now in the beginner group, because I knew I wasn't a beginner rider and that would have been frustrating. He said "everyone gets assigned appropriately based on their skills level." So basically ignored and overrode my question...
When we went out on the ride, they put me in the back of the group behind people who had said they have never even been on a horse before! While putting everyone with experience up front.
Later on in the ride, I found out from the guide that the horse they assigned me too was one of the hardest to ride, because it likes to stop to eat, will stop when you kick it to go, and is the SLOWEST ONE. Yes, he told me these things. -.-
I'm not sure why I got singled out, why my experience level was overrode, why they gave me the most challenging horse, nor why they put me behind people who never rode before. Honestly beats me, but it didn't leave a nice feeling for the rest of the ride. I didn't feel welcomed there after that.
