My husband and I have done three whale watching tours, and this one was THE best! I know, they are wild and they do what they do, but the guides were very knowledgeable and spotted the whales effortlessly! Remember that they are a research organisation and whatever money they collect goes towards their projects. So, yes, they take a picture as you're boarding, that you can purchase as you disembark but no one makes you feel as though you have to purchase it. They sell snacks, booze and souvenirs but it's up to you! We were treated to a tail smacking back and forth, many sprays, a mother and her calf, and far away breaches. Keep your eyes open and you will see amazing stuff! All in all, a fantastic tour!

After 3.5 weeks on the beach we needed a change of scenery, why you say? Hawaii is home to many adventures and whale watching is one of our faves. We have done two other tours with Pacific Whale foundation and found them to be exciting and informative, so the choice was clear when we wanted to do a third tour. We lucked out on our boat selection for the 8am tour, Ocean Explorer, best little boat there is. It can hold 40 and there was 9 of us, talk about a private tour. We had Captain Courtney, Megan and Jakarta all to ourselves. The was conversation, questions and information galore from crew and guests. The tour was 2 hours but was so chill that it felt like more. Captain Courtney led us to some exciting sites, Megan put the sound machine on and we heard beautiful music from the depths of the ocean, humpback songs. Long story short, we will be back, next time with our granddaughter. Thank you for an u forgettable experience, again!!!!!!

Very comfortable boat with indoor and outdoor view options if weather is poor. Well educated and cheery commentary. Boat skipper was able to keep as close as legal for amazing views of moms and their calves, whales breaching all around us and tail flukes visible when whales diving.
Unforgettable trip and a highlight of my Hawaiian vacation.
