Aperçu
Step into the past on a haunting journey through the true story of the "Graveyard of the West". As the sun sets and the city’s vibrant façade fades, you'll uncover the sinister secrets and chilling tales that lurk beneath the city's storied streets.

One part ghosts, one part grisly history, this guided 1.5-hour walking tour through downtown unveils the darkest corners of Louisville’s gruesome past, where the echoes of bygone eras whisper tragic tales of the forlorn, the oppressed, the betrayed, and the ruthless.

From a ghost that still haunts a glamorous hotel to the tragic riots of Bloody Monday, you’ll trace the cursed footsteps of criminals, mobsters, bootleggers, enslavers, and murderers in the city streets they once roamed – and the spirits whose souls never left.

For thrill-seekers, true crime fans, and lovers of the macabre, this dark history & ghost tour is a journey into the stories that lie beneath Louisville’s charming exterior. Dare to listen to the shadows with us.

Great history of the city that you wouldn’t learn from just anyone. Regina was such a great tour guide and very much appreciated all of her knowledge!

We have taken city tours all over the world and typically love them. It is nice to hear the unique and unusual stories about a city, as well as see the high lights. Positive: The guide was nice. I do not however recommend this tour. Cons: This is the most unprofessional and worst tour I have taken. The tour was supposed to the 90 minutes. The weather was over 90 degrees and humid (we were in the middle of a heat wave). Our tour started 30 minutes late, as they kept 14 people waiting in the sun for 2 people who arrived late. When they finally arrived, they had them slowly fill out liability waivers. Waiting 30 minutes in the heat is unacceptable. When the tour finally started, we were spent the first 30 minutes in the immediate area talking about the statues in the plaza and the river. Why couldn't we have just started and have the late comers join when they got there? Or have another guide wait for them? When you are that late, they should not have expected otherwise. They were 30 minutes late for a 90 minute tour!!! Shortly into the tour, but actually almost an hour after it was supposed to start, people began just leaving. Most of the stores were a little boring--there was once a female river boat captain, who did better than the men; there was a flood. Between the 30 minute late start, the heat (which I realize was not their fault, but they exasperated the problem with the wait and no water), and the lack of interesting stories, I left the tour when it was near my hotel. They literally changed the time of the tour in the heat significantly, without apologizing, without asking if people had other plans. I appreciate that they were trying to accommodate the 2 late comers, but what about the guests that left early because it now interfered with their plans. I would like a full refund, and I think the tour company should refund others for inconveniencing them.

Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations and that the heat wave made the experience unpleasant. We agree that our tour guide should not keep guests waiting and we have clarified our expectations with our guide team to ensure it does not happen again. We deeply appreciate the opportunity to learn and do better in the future!
