On a small boat, you can expect to get wet, no matter where you sit in the raft. Grab a paddle and get ready for a whitewater adventure on the Snake River. This raft has 6 paddling positions and 2 non-paddling positions.

  • Public transportation options are available nearby
  • Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
  • Not recommended for pregnant travelers
  • Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • Bring a change of dry clothes, a towel, and a sweatshirt on the bus with you. It will be waiting for you at the end of your trip.
  • Conditions can be variable; you may experience a cold day on the river. (Not to worry, it will still be a lot of fun. You just have to dress appropriately!)
  • Please wear shoes that can get wet that will not fall off your feet. An old pair of running shoes or water shoes would be your best option. You must wear footwear in the raft, so we do have booties available for rent if you do not have footwear. Sizes run 2 – 15 and can be rented upon arrival for $5.00 per pair.
  • Please wear synthetic clothing if possible and bring layers. Synthetics are best for the river because they dry faster than cotton. A bathing suit underneath shorts and a t-shirt is fine for a nice, warm, summer day.
  • Splash gear is complimentary. On a cold day, you’ll want a bathing suit to wear under the wet suit.
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat are highly recommended.
  • We have wet suits & wet suit jackets available for rent. Wet suits are $10.00 to rent. Wet suit jackets are $5.00 to rent.
  • Please note kids must weigh at least 50 pounds or more to go rafting!

What's not to love about stunning scenery, an exciting adventure, and a highly knowledgeable guide? From check-in to check-out, we had a really wonderful experience. Adam Woolley (he goes by "Woolley"), our guide, was simply outstanding. He was so charming, fun, confident, and made us feel safe. He provided wonderful anecdotes and just the right amount of information, and he knew just how to connect with our teenagers. We thought that perhaps the relatively tame class III rating of this trip would be not exciting enough for our kids (we have rafted on wilder rivers), but everyone had a blast. Woolley even let the kids sit up on the very front of the raft to "ride the bull" which was really fun for them. It's good to know that the time on the raft itself is just under 1.5 hours, which felt a bit shorter than expected, but seems to have to do with the nature of the river (an 8-mile stretch for the ride). Woolley is a musician, and he gave us a great tip to check out a bluegrass band that played at the Wort Hotel. SO much fun to watch all the amazing dancers -- such fun people-watching! All in all, a fabulous experience with Mad River.

We literally just disembarked our return bus ride from a most exhilarating trip down the Snake River! Our guide, Cory, was super friendly, knowledgeable, and skillful! I would recommend this company to everyone. The staff is very safety oriented and helpful!!

Our family rafted the Snake River with Mad River yesterday and the trip was fantastic. Very well organized and extremely professional. Our guide Molly was awesome and made the trip so much fun. Highly recommended.
