We live locally but this is the first time we’ve tried Wild Florida. We made a short trip of it and arrived shortly before 2PM on a beautiful Saturday. We had a great time and stayed till closing at 6 PM (just the right amount of time for us and our two grandchildren, pre-K and kindergarten age).
Thanks to Sam S for help with our reservation and awesome recommendations for ‘not to miss’ areas and help with tickets. She was spot-on and really made it perfect for us! Every employee we encountered was pleasant and helpful, food was fresh and tasty, and the attraction overall was clean and well kept.
Prices were much better than most tourist attractions. We purchased some souvenirs for the girls in the gift shop, full meals for the four of us, food for the animals in the petting zoo, and even fed the giraffes (our favorite activity) and spent about as much as an evening out used to cost us.
We recommend feeding the giraffes for sure! Prices were $5 for a bundle of greens (romaine I think) and we got the kids two bundles each, which gave us enough time to enjoy the reactions and get some pictures. The line wasn’t too long and employees and guests were all very polite and gracious.
Our girls also really enjoyed the petting zoo area with goats, a cow, an emu (watch out for that guy!), and I think a young alpaca or llama. We recommend buying a few of the ‘cones’ of food but hang onto them tight or the goats will steal them.
We didn’t do the airboat ride so I can’t speak to that but honestly we were completely satisfied with what we did.
We’re definitely going back. The next time we’ll probably make our reservation a bit earlier than 2PM, probably 11AM or so. (I believe reservations are required). One last recommendation is to use the restroom before the driving safari - it last longer than you’d expect if you take your time. The nice thing is you go back around as many times as you want if you need to leave for a bathroom run.
Awesome day! Thanks Wild Florida and thanks Sam!!! We loved it.
