This was a great day out. The driver/guide was informative and engaging. He took the scenic route from our hotel in South Lake Tahoe and explained every step of the way. Arriving in Virginia City, we saw various former mineshafts and learned the history of the area. It was all new to us and therefore fascinating. The views from Virginia City are simply stunning and wandering around the quaint, historic town, was a joy. We ate at the Red Dog Saloon, which serves a good pizza. Check the sizes before ordering as ‘large’ really means huge.

Having to wait for rude people who went shopping at Target. We had to wait for them to leave. It cut into our time.

Our bus driver that was taking us to the train was very informative and had a great personality. All the passengers on the bus were also great. Made the trip very enjoyable. Our conductor for the train was also very informative and had a great sense of humor. It was a good train ride.
