This was such a perfect experience for first time rafters! Incredibly professional, and yet so much fun. I was a bit nervous, but was calmed by the organized and experienced crew. The gear and equipment were all very well cared for and in good condition. Our capt'n, Spicy Brycey was phenomenal. If we ever return to denali, rafting will be at the top of our list.

Sit in the front if you want an ice cold “glacial facial!” I was a tad nervous at first because Dylan, one of the guides, did such a thorough job explaining what to do if you fall into the ice cold 36 degree Fahrenheit water and getting hypothermia etc. Our guide and esteemed rower was Chance, native of Barstow, California and super chill guy. I say these things because him talking about himself and asking his raft mates where we were all from put me at ease and easily within ten minutes or less I was no longer nervous! Look past the jumpsuit, the helmet, and sopping wet secondhand shoes that make you look like an astronaut Halloween costume gone wrong that you are required to wear…. everyone in the group looks exactly the same. Every single item they make you wear is meant to protect you and keep you from freezing like a popsicle. I enjoyed every minute of this adventure, thanks to Chance and the great team at New Wave Adventures!

When another rafting company cancelled the trip for our family of 9 with no notice, we frantically searched for another option. New Wave could not have been more accommodating. We had three children with us who were expecting a rafting adventure. New Wave found us an open time slot that day (I think they actually added a raft to a trip). We all enjoyed Dylan and his colleagues. I don’t give a lot of 5-star ratings on Trip Advisor. These folks deserved it.
