Quête du zodiaque sauvage

Aperçu
Your adrenalin will be pumping when you captain a four- or six-passenger Zodiac, a rigid-hulled inflatable boat offering speed and agility. The adventure begins with a tour by van through historic downtown Ketchikan. Look out the windows as your scenic drive travels past totem poles, Saxman Native Village, and the beautiful coastline of the Tongass Narrows to the Beaver Falls Salmon Cannery. Upon arrival, breathe in the fresh air as you walk the mystical rainforest trail to the Zodiac. After a safety briefing, you’ll bundle up in rain gear, rubber boots and a life jacket, step inside the sturdy Zodiac and follow your guide out to the beautiful George Inlet Fjords. Soak up the pristine scenery, and marvel at the rich wildlife. After cruising for 90 minutes, you’ll return to the cannery for a complimentary flight of 49th state craft beers or sodas and a snack!

We booked this excursion through our Holland America cruise and are really glad we did. This was the best excursion. We are seasoned boaters, and at first, I thought this was going to be some slow-poke 3mph follow-the-leader event. Boy was I pleasantly surprised when Turkey opened it up and we all took off after him. Turkey spotted some wildlife and guided us all to the spot effortlessly. He was knowledgeable and clear in his directions. Would have been perfect with only 2 people in the Zodiac, but our boat-mates were awesome companions who also had a great deal of powerboat experience so it was easy to split the driving (except no one wanted to give up the helm). What a great day. My only regret is that we didn't have enough time on the water, but then... I never think I spend enough time on the water.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I’m thrilled to hear that you had such a great time on the excursion and that Turkey exceeded your expectations. We love surprising seasoned boaters like yourself and providing a truly adventurous and engaging experience. It's wonderful to know that your boat-mates made the outing even more enjoyable and that sharing the helm turned out to be part of the fun. I completely understand your desire for more time on the water—it's hard to leave such a beautiful place! We hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon. Thank you for choosing us through your Holland America cruise, and for your kind words. Safe travels and happy boating!

On my 11 day Alaska cruise I booked an excursion each day in a port and this one was second best out of 9. It started out with some history (I am a big history buff) and there was all kinds of memorabilia about the salmon cannery. But the best part was we geared up with protective clothing and of course a vest. snakes including local juices and sodas were provided. Go with the Root Beer! We boarded pontoon boats. This all was done under the supervision of our guide who was the reason this was my second best excursion. He went by "Turkey" which I felt was very humble and good for a general laugh. He evaluated everyone's ability to pilot Ione if the boats. I was solo so he let me pilot his boat. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area we explored and took us to a spot we're he knew there was a magnificent bald eagle nesting, brought so small fish in a little cooler and got the eagle out by throwing these in the air and we got to see much more of this unbelievable creature. 🦅 It was just long enough but again we all owed Turkey for making a incredible day in a incredible atmosphere. Thank you Turkey!! 🦃
