Dégustation de vins, vignobles de l'est de l'état de Washington au départ de Seattle

Aperçu
Wine Tasting, in the vineyards. Head over the mountains into Eastern Washington, leaving the rainy coastal climate of Seattle for the sun-drenched desert hills of the Yakima and Columbia valleys. You'll see lush evergreen forests and semi-arid sagebrush on this interesting travel route to the wine country.

Your guide will pick you up at your agreed upon location and head east toward the Cascades. Sample wines from each of 3 wineries, noting the differences in each glass by the area's distinctive features, from soil and terrain to sun exposure and rainfall.

You may pick 2 wineries in the area (not too far out of the way), or we have some pre-set ones that are popular.

Stop along the way to complement your tastings with a tasty lunch, or enjoy the food offerings at the wineries.

Snoqualmie Pass
On the way, you'll be driven through Snoqualmie Pass, a wonderful Cascade Mountain Pass with a ski resort at the top and a lot of trees: Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, and Hemlock. Once over the pass on the East side, you'll see Pine Trees instead, due to the change in the climate.
5
Yakima Valley
Yakima Valley is known for its produce and grape growing. Here, 74% of America's hops are grown. Add in corn, apples, cherries, apricots, wheat, tomatoes and more, it's a happening place.
6
VanArnam Vineyards
My favorite winery in Yakima, though there are so very many good ones in E. Washington is one of the 3 stops we make to sample the wines. The beautiful land, vineyards, and chateau are just so peaceful and relaxing. The charcuterie board and food offerings are really nice as well.as the wine.

Cheryl planned a great day of wine tasting for us and planned little extra touches that made even the trip from our Seattle hotel to the vineyards/wineries and back an enjoyable experience. She called us ahead to customize the trip per our preferences, she pointed out highlights along the way after picking us up from our hotel, and made sure we had snacks, water (and water bottle to keep), and tailored lunch across a couple of the wineries per our preference, all in addition to the wine tasting experiences at three wineries that had a great diversity and delicious wines. Besides the wine tasting, the trip back and forth from Seattle was a great part of the experience as we really enjoyed the scenery and learning a little about the different Washington landscapes and climates between Seattle and Eastern Washington (desert area).

Hi Linda. Thank you for the great review! I love this tour. Even though it's a long drive, the scenery is fantastic. Thank you again, I'm glad to meet you and get you some NW wine tastings.
