We were in Anchorage for one day only and unfortunately for us, it was a winter Monday when EVERYTHING seems closed in Anchorage. We went to the Welcome Center and learned about Downtown TourGroup. Russ took care of us and gave us a wonderful day of touring what we could see though the weather was awful and everything was closed. We heard some wonderful stories, got a thorough lesson about the 1964 earthquake which was really enlightening, saw the Wildlife Conservation Center, and rode the rails through the tunnel to Whittier. Creative and fun day. Much appreciated, Russ. You turned what could have been a lost day into a wonderful one.

What a great time we had. Just wish we had a little more time to see the Museum in Whittier and a little less "weather" to see more of the beauty that surrounded us on the tour. Thank you again for allowing Anchorage Downtown TourGroup to help plan your adventure. It was a wonderful experience for me as well. I hope to see you back to Alaska soon. Cheers

Topped all expectations! Traveling solo in Anchorage during the tourist offseason is tough since a lot of tours don't run in the winter and the ones that do require a minimum of 2 people. That's when I heard about Russ and Anchorage Downtown TourGroup. I signed up for the all-day tour and it was an amazing experience. The weather was perfect and Russ took me to the full range of sights and sounds - from stunning mountainscapes, glaciers, and city views, historical sites to earthquake locations, saw penned and wild (moose, eagles, etc) animals up close, had great fresh-caught fish and water flowing out the side of a mountain. There was so much more, I ran out of battery power on one camera. Russ knows his stuff, had my safety as a priority, and his office was open early. I highly recommend Anchorage Downtown TourGroup.

It was the last day of our trip in Alaska and desperately finding the post office to get stamps for our postcards mailed back home, however it's impossible since it was a Sunday which we didn't notice at all. Fortunately, we went into Anchorage Downtown TourGroup just to ask if they would know any vendors would sell stamps. Russ, the gentleman offered to get the stamps for us on the next day and we just gave him a roundup dollars. We can't express how much we appreciated Russ unconditional act of help but strongly believe and recommend Russ's company that it could provide an extraordinary service to its tourist customers.
