Winding through the Venetian style canals you’ll find the picturesque city is laced with history and lined with some of Florida’s finest flora and fauna. I’m a Florida native but I wasn’t aware of this splendid day trip until recently. It’s a lovely “Old Florida” ramble, paddling across calm lakes lined with elegant multimillion dollar homes and through intimate canals shaded by century-old live oaks and tangles of tropical vegetation. I’m an elder with very little kayaking experience and the adventure suited my skills and capacity. Our guide was interesting, attentive, and patient with questions and my limited skills.

This was such a beautiful experience. The views were all so pretty, and being there to watch the sunset was really amazing. Our guide, Keith, was so warm, friendly, helpful and kind. Seriously, he is a guide we will brag about forever lol. He made the entire thing that much better. I would totally recommend this tour, especially if the other guides are half as great as Keith was!

On a sunny day with no wind, it would be a beautiful, peaceful kayak. With the wind and rain, it was still enjoyable, with some information on the houses of the rich and famous around the lakes. Not sure that the clear bottomed kayaks make any difference in this location, as there is more scenery above than below the water here. We were fortunate to have a Bald Eagle just by the lily pads of the second lake, close enough for us to see clearly. Allowed us to drift by and admire its majesty. Didn't quite make it through to the third lake as we ran out of time, with the weather against us. Overall, it was a good couple of hours out on the lakes, and Janson was a pleasant and informative tour guide.

Since we are on a lake and the water isn't clear , they clear kayaks are more-so used to create a unique, immersive touch that feels like you're right on top of the water, fully surrounded by the scenery. They are also shaped different, making it easier for some beginners to maneuver! We love being able to offer a fun alternative to the traditional kayak!
